Seize the Grey Shatters Triple Crown Dreams with Preakness Victory

Date:

In an interesting race that was run at the muddy Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Seize the Grey won in the 149th Preakness Stakes on Saturday. This triumph leads it to be said that there will not be a Triple Crown winner at all this year, for Seize the Grey beat Kentucky Derby champion Mystik Dan and other six participants.

Seize the Grey led the race from start to finish, completing it in 1:56. 82. Mystik Dan came next as the runner-up, while Catching Freedom grabbed third place. Unlike the heart-stopping photo finish two weeks ago on the Churchill Downs, Seize the Grey won this event by about 2 1/4 lengths.

For punters, Seize the Grey won them $21 in return. 60 to win, $8. 40 to go, and I will spend $4. 40 to show, having received 91 votes.

This win is a milestone for 88-year-old D. Wayne Lukas, the oldest trainer to have a Triple Crown race victory. It is his seventh Preakness victory and Baffert needs just one to tie with the record held by Bob Baffert. Now Lukas’s career has reached its climax with 15 Triple Crown race wins to his Credit.

I think they’re trying to get rid of me, Lukas said ironically when he mimicked his colleagues’ congratulations. “They most likely want me to retire. I bet it won’t. This will not get old for me at that point. I love the competition. I found Seize the Grey’s action from behind very enchanting. And I saw then that he could control the track. I responded, ‘Take care, he won’t give up’.

For jockey Jaime Torres, Seize the Grey’s victory became the initial success of his career in the Triple Crown series. “I’m very thankful to all the people that have been beside me, helping me,” Torres said, visibly emotional. “My family, they’ve sacrificed a lot for me. “I am thankful for it. ” Torres’s family made a wonder visit to Pimlico to see his grand win.

This thoroughbred racehorse has 2,570 owners from 42 states. “Are you getting what I mean?” Lukas pointed out. MyRacehorse CEO Michael Behrens stated, “The race is led by Mr. Lukas. This is the first horse we’ve ever offered him. He was my superhero growing up. For those who own this racehorse, it’s been amazing for 2,570 people.

Noteworthy is the Seize the Grey’s success, becoming the 18th winner from the sixth post since 1909. This victory was the culmination of Mystik Dan’s Triple Crown bid that began with a split decision at Churchill Downs.

That’s an awesome horse, trainer Ken McPeek asserted. He’s an amazing and honorable guy, and if I have to lose, I’m glad it’s to him.

Immediately after Seize the Grey’s possible participation, there is the 156th Belmont Stakes on June 8 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.
